Long Bennington, Nottingham: 30 years ago “I should be so lucky” by Kylie was top of the charts, the Ford Escort was the best selling car, the £1 note ceased to be legal tender, and in February 1988 KAPOK 88 started business.
We are really proud of reaching this milestone. KAPOK 88 continues to be a family business, we value and are grateful for our relationships with all our employees, customers and suppliers.
We started serving the UK Elevator Industry with our padded protective drapes in the 80’s, which has developed and expanded to Europe and the Middle East in 2007. Our reputation has been built on quality, price, high levels of customer service and a quick turnaround – traits we’ve maintained since day one.
Our product range has developed now to include a modular drape system as well as the tailor made solution. Also our customers can benefit from a greater choice of drape fixings, temporary floor protection, and e-li handrails all of which compliment and protect the elevator interior.
Elevator drapes are the main stay of our business and over the years we’ve supplied a host of different elevators, from car parks, to the Tower of London, we’ve even supplied several of the Royal households. Our ability to create tailor made solutions has also meant we’ve manufactured for a staircase and hallway within the state apartments, a bar in a night club, the interior of a private jet & a couple of top secret locations!
The KAPOK 88 team has grown & accomplished a lot together, producing a great value elevator interior product with ‘bashability’ truly protecting our customers’ investment.
Looking to the future, Richard B. Annable, Managing Director says “Creating a successful brand in the elevator industry has allowed us to expand and improve the products we supply, the next chapter in our story is to create further brand awareness within the sectors that manage, service and run buildings with elevators in and companies that use elevators on a daily basis, namely the removals industry.”
